Our Physician

Sharon Kanelos, M.D.

 

Dr. Kanelos received her undergraduate degree at Miami University and received her medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She completed her internship at Carolinas Medical Center and residency at Carolinas Rehabilitation in Charlotte, North Carolina where she served as chief resident in her final year of residency.  Dr. Kanelos then joined the faculty of Carolinas Rehabilitation where she worked as the Director of the Prosthetics and Orthotics program and Co-Director of the Lymphedema program. She is very active in the education of residents and was awarded the James T. McDeavitt Teaching Award in 2010 for contributions to the education of residents at Carolinas Rehabilitation. Her interests include prosthetics and orthotics, lymphedema, general rehabilitation, musculoskeletal disorders, electromyography, and injections.
